Public invited to Mental Health Awareness Week events

March 25, 2019 – Join University of Wisconsin-River Falls students, faculty and staff in raising awareness about mental health and discover resources for those in need of support during Mental Health Awareness Week events April 1-9 on campus. Activities are free and open to everyone.

“Mental health effects all of us, and we need to continue the conversation,” said Elise Koop, events and activities coordinator in UWRF’s Office of Student Involvement. “Each year we see a demand from students to provide programs that support and talk about issues they themselves are experiencing. We want to provide students and the community with resources right here on campus so if a situation arises, they are equipped with the correct outlets and offices to reach out to.”

This year, the community can choose to be involved in everything from early morning yoga and craft nights to pet therapy.

Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) is hosted by UWRF Student Involvement and Student Government Association with special events hosted by Student Health and Counseling, Campus Recreation and numerous campus partners and student organizations.
