"Just Local" Event at UW-River Falls Focuses on Community

April 5, 2012-- A community event, "Just Local," focusing on bringing people together to learn about the importance of being an engaged community member and supporting the local economy, will be held Friday, April 20, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Falcon's Nest in the University Center at UW-River Falls.

A community bike ride from 6-7 p.m. will take off from Veteran's Park in downtown River Falls on Friday also. Registration for the ride begins at 5:30 p.m. with live music and food.

Participants in the "Just Local" event on campus can sample local foods and learn how local businesses and organizations meet everyday needs. Learn how to reduce your carbon footprint through eating local, buying local and utilizing alternative modes of transportation.
