Homecoming events planned for Oct. 14-20


October 3, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls invites the public to share in the exciting and memorable experiences of Homecoming.

Throughout the week of Oct. 14-20, traditional Homecoming festivities will be combined with new family-fun events to create one large celebration, bringing parents and family members together with alumni and students.

“Homecoming is a wonderful time to come back to campus to enjoy and connect with the community, our students and alumni. It’s a weekend filled with laughter and memories,” said Pedro Renta, director of Alumni Relations. “We are excited with our 2019 homecoming event lineup and are ready to welcome our alumni home.”

Featured events include:

Home Cooked Homecoming, Monday, Oct. 14, 5:30-7 p.m., University Center mall. Professor Jake’s Bean Soup is a Homecoming tradition. Free and open to the public to kick-off Homecoming Week. Hosted by UWRF Greek Life. 

Homecoming Band Concert, Thursday, Oct. 17, 7:30 p.m., Abbott Concert Hall in Kleinpell Fine Arts. Admission is $8/adult, $5/seniors and students.

Free showing of Aladdin, Friday, Oct. 18, 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., Kinnickinnic Theater, University Center. Bring the whole family and enjoy some free popcorn.

Homecoming Volleyball Game, Friday, Oct. 18, 7 p.m., Page Arena at Falcon Center. Falcons vs. UW-Whitewater.

Planetarium Tour, Saturday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., 201 Ag Science building. Program includes a tour of the solar system and flying out to the edge of the universe. Maximum capacity of 50 people per tour. 

Homecoming Parade, Saturday, Oct. 19, 10:30 a.m., downtown River Falls. See UWRF’s Falcon spirit come alive! Bring a bucket to hold all the candy.

Falcon Center Tours, Saturday, Oct. 19, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Falcon Center main entrance. Tours depart every 15 minutes from entrance of Falcon Center by the ticket window. Free tour of the $63.5 million center that provides outstanding spaces for academics, wellness, recreation and athletics.

Homecoming Football Game, Saturday, Oct. 19, 1 p.m., David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field. Falcons vs. UW-La Crosse.

Homecoming Choral Concert, Sunday, Oct. 20, 3 p.m., Abbott Concert Hall in Kleinpell Fine Arts. Admission is $8/adult, $5/seniors and students.
