Black History Month Celebrated at UW-River Falls
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is celebrating Black History Month by offering two public events hosted by the Black Student Union.
Dairy Club Students Take Second Place at Regional ADSA-SAD Conference
University of Wisconsin-River Falls Dairy Club students took home a second place finish in the junior division of the quiz bowl competition at the Midwest Regional American Dairy Science Association – Student Affiliate Division (ADSA-SAD), Feb. 5-7 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Graduate Studies Scholarship Recipients Named at UW-River Falls
A University of Wisconsin-River Falls scholarship established to honor a Minnesota legislator has been awarded for the first time. Mike Collins of St. Paul, Minn. and Chelsey Turner of Spring Valley, both graduate students seeking teaching licensure at UW-River Falls, each received $5,000 from the Bruce F. Vento Science Educator Scholarship.
More than 900 High School Students Compete in Science Olympiad Hosted by UW-River Falls
More than 900 students representing 34 high schools from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota competed in the fifth annual Science Olympiad competition at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls on Jan. 23.

Gov. Scott Walker on Friday announced the appointment of UW-River Falls student Lisa Erickson to the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents. Erickson will replace Regent Nic Harsy as the non-traditional student on the board. Harsy's term ends in May.

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host a Girls in SCIENCE: Seeing, Creating, Inventing, Exploring, Naming, Cooperating, and Experimenting event on campus Saturday, April 16. The program aims to encourage and promote girls' full participation in a wide range of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields.
UW-River Falls to Host Open House for St. Croix Valley Bull Test March 12
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Department of Animal and Food Science, St. Croix Valley Bull Test, UW-River Falls Beef Management Team and UW-Extension will host an educational program and open house on Saturday, March 12, at the UW-River Falls Dairy Learning Center on the Mann Valley Farm, 129 South Glover Road, River Falls. As beef producers approach this spring and consider purchasing a replacement bull, this program will help in the decision-making process.
UW-River Falls to Host TEDx Event Feb. 27
A free public event, TEDxUWRiverFalls, is being hosted Saturday, Feb. 27, from 1-5 p.m. in the University Center at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The independently organized event, licensed by TED, will feature UW-River Falls student and distinguished alumni voices and TED Talks videos under the theme of “Ideas Worth Spreading.”
UW-River Falls University Theatre Presents ‘The White Snake’
The University Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will present “The White Snake” in the Blanche Davis Theatre of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building at 7:30 p.m. Feb 25-27 and March 3-5.
