December Music Events at UW-River Falls

Nov. 21, 2011—Several music events are planned for December through the UW-River Falls Music Department including:

* The UWRF Trombone Choir will perform in concert Dec. 3, at 5 p.m. at the Basilica of St. Mary, Minneapolis, Minn. A mass prior to performance is at 4:45 p.m.　 Free and open to the public

* UWRF presents a Holiday Choral Concert on Dec. 4, at 3 p.m.　and again on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on campus.　Admission is $5/adults, $3/senior citizens and $2/students.

* The UWRF Brass Choir and Trombone Choir will perform in concert on Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Luther Memorial Church in River Falls (across the street from campus). Free and open to the public

*  UWRF Symphony Band will perform in concert on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building.  Admission is $5/adults, $3/seniors and $2/students. 

* The UWRF will present a Music Student Convocation on Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on campus.　Free and open to the public.

*  St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra will perform a Holiday Concert, "There's No Place Like Home,"  on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building.  Admission is $5/adults, $3/seniors, and $2/students.

* The UWRF Radd Jazz Series presents Jazz Nutcracker Suite and Holiday Swing Dance, Friday, Dec. 9, at the Historic Landmark Center, St. Paul, Minn.　A reception is set for 6 -7 p.m. with the　performance from 7-8 p.m. (Performance of the Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn "The Nutcracker Suite" featuring the UWRF Jazz Ensemble, in collaboration with UWRF Dance Theater). A Holiday Swing Dance follows from 8-10 p.m. featuring the UWRF Jazz Ensemble performing holiday season swing dance selections.　 Swing dance instruction provided by UWRF Dance Theater faculty Mari Kline and Torrion Amie.　 Tickets are available at the Information Desk in the University Center on campus or at the door, based upon availability. Tickets are required for entrance. Admission is $25/general admission; and free/students.　Transportation is available for free with all tickets.　Please reserve your seat on the bus at the Information Desk in the University Center. * UWRF presents Tyler Halverson's (trumpet) senior recital Saturday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on campus. Free and open to the public

* UWRF presents Stephanie Bijoch's (mezzo-soprano) senior recital Sunday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on campus.　Free and open to the public.

*  St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra will perform a Holiday Concert, "There's No Place Like Home,"  on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Afton, Minn. The public is welcome to attend.

* UWRF Falls presents Tristan Brodie's (trombone) senior recital Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on campus.　Free and open to the public.
