Commencement is December 19 – Two Ceremonies and a New Location

December 10, 2015 — Nearly 360 University of Wisconsin-River Falls bachelor's and master's degree students will participate in two separate commencement ceremonies at River Falls High School on Saturday, Dec.19. The change in venue is due to the construction of the new Falcon Center, set for completion in 2017.

The first of the two ceremonies begins at noon and will include graduates from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, the College of Business and Economics, and the College of Graduate Studies. The second ceremony, taking place at 3:30 p.m., includes graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education and Professional Studies. It is recommended that all attending arrive at least one hour before the start of each ceremony.

Chancellor Dean Van Galen will preside over both ceremonies and confer degrees. Graduating senior Harmony Arco, broad area music education major, will sing the National Anthem and the UW-River Falls Pledge Song at both ceremonies. Special recognition will be given to Animal and Food Science Professor Gary Onan, the 2015 Distinguished Teacher, and Ball Horticultural Company, the Outstanding Service Award recipient.
