College of Business and Economics students recognized for exceptional leadership


May 15, 2018 - Twelve College of Business and Economics (CBE) students at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls were recognized with the Dean’s Award for Excellence at the annual CBE awards program April 30. The awards recognize and celebrate the achievements of both undergraduate and graduate students for exceptional leadership and dedication to the college.

Students receiving awards were:

Reid Wilson of St. Paul received the award by exemplifying the university's aspirations in Pathway to Distinction by participating in the campus Innovation Challenge, serving as president of the Sales Club, participating in two study abroad opportunities and by displaying leadership and initiative while making the most of every opportunity during his time at UW-River Falls.

Zachary Herridge of St. Paul, Robert Vander Aarde of Northfield, Minn., Kyle Badger of Afton, Minn., Brady Lange of Lewiston, Minn., Kaleb Klepel of Mantorville, Minn., and Soren Netka of St. Paul, received the award by their attendance at the 2018 Midwest Instructions and Computer Symposium through preparation, training and persistence. Each student demonstrated enthusiasm for competition in computer programming.

Erica Mainu of Tomah received the award by demonstrating exemplary leadership as the president of the UWRF chapter for Human Resource Management, attending leadership and budget sessions, organizing events and recruiting for increased membership in this organization.

Ceirra Schuette of River Falls received the award by demonstrating excellent academic performance and being an active member of the recently completed Computer Science Search and Screen process.

Matthew Divertie of Stillwater, Minn., received the award by demonstrating exceptional work ethic while acquiring advanced skills on a research project that led to the development of a prototype demonstrated at the Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity 2017 Fall Gala.

James VandenBergh of St. Paul received the awards for demonstrating motivation, professionalism and dedication to the projects he is involved in. He is a highly involved and engaged student who has served in a variety of leadership roles.

Anmarie Masterlark of River Falls received the award by demonstrating persistence in completing her degree while maintaining a positive attitude.
