Celebration to Mark Launch of New Strategic Plan at UW-River Falls

April 23, 2012 – Over the past year, UW-River Falls students, faculty, staff and community members from the St. Croix Valley have come together to develop the university's next five-year strategic plan, "Pathway to Distinction." The completion and approval of the strategic plan will be celebrated at a public event on Thursday, April 26, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center.

The event will feature displays, activities, and a film all highlighting UWRF's strengths in areas related to the plan's three goals:  Distinctive Academic Excellence, Global Education and Engagement, and Innovation and Partnerships. Authors of the plan's first year initiatives will be available to discuss and answer questions related to their initiatives. "The event will serve as a great celebration of our university and its new five-year strategic plan, "Pathway to Distinction," says UWRF Chancellor Dean Van Galen.

"This event is the culmination of a year-long, participatory process to develop a roadmap for UW-River Falls for 2012-2017 that builds upon our strengths. I encourage everyone from the campus and broader community to attend."

More information regarding "Pathway to Distinction," including the roadmap used to develop the plan, is available at https://www.uwrf.edu/strateticplan. The page also includes details and annual updates on UWRF's 2007-2012 strategic plan, "Living the Promise."

Due to construction associated with the Cascade Avenue Project, those attending the event are encouraged to enter the campus via Wild Rose Avenue. Signs will be posted along Wild Rose Avenue directing visitors to event parking. More information on the Cascade Avenue Project, including weekly updates and a map showing detour routes, is available at https://www.uwrf.edu/CascadeProject
