51st Ag Tech Contest Hosted by UW-River Falls

April 15, 2011--The 51st Agricultural Technology Contest brought 991 middle and high school agriculture students from 61 Minnesota and Wisconsin schools to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on April 2. AgTechContest
 
Students competed in 18 different agriculture-related contests. A number of the contests are state qualifying career development events or even qualifiers for the Wisconsin FFA state contest.

UW-River Falls students are instrumental as volunteers to proctor and judge the various contests, including agricultural communications, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, dairy cattle evaluation, farm business management, floriculture, food science and technology, forestry, horse evaluation, livestock evaluation, nursery/landscape, small animals, soils and wildlife. Additional contests were the crop show and the power tool drag race.
