UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
Oct. 17, 2011--Dale Lindquist, president and CEO of Fiberstar, Inc., will serve as the UW-River Falls College of Business and Economics Fall 2011 Executive-in-Residence. Lindquist will deliver the Executive-in-Residence lecture entitled “Reflections, Contemporary Venture, and Visions of an Entrepreneur,” on Thursday, Oct, 27, from 2-3 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom, UC. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Lindquist’s lecture will focus on how to apply entrepreneurial principles to gain the confidence of others so they will open doors of opportunity and provide the additional resources you need to achieve your life goals. He advocates not letting a lack of natural talents or financial resources limit your personal or business aspirations.
After earning a degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota and working for a private company for 14 years, Lindquist began his entrepreneurial career that has spanned 30 years.
“Dale Lindquist is the Fall 2011 Executive-in-Residence for the College of Business and Economics because he demonstrates the attitude and ability required to be highly successful as an entrepreneur,” says Glenn Potts, dean of the college of business and economics. “Mr. Lindquist will talk to our campus about his experience and provide insight into what it takes to be successful in a competitive environment. He has created and grown a high tech business starting from an idea to being a very successful multinational business. It is a fascinating personal and business story.”
Fiberstar began production and sales in 2004. Fiberstar’s products are used by many of the world’s largest food manufacturers to improve the quality as well as reduce the cost, caloric density and synthetic ingredient content of food products they manufacture.
Under Lindquist’s leadership, Fiberstar has become one of the fastest growing companies in the United States. Currently, Fiberstar is listed 19th among the fastest growing companies in the 13-county Twin Cities metro area. Inc. magazine ranks Fiberstar as number 1437 among the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in the United States.
The company has earned a number of industry awards, among them Frost & Sullivan’s U.S. Food Fiber Markets Entrepreneurial Company of the Year (2005) and the Silver Award for the Most Innovative Food Ingredient Introduced into Europe in the prior two years (2007). In 2010, the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network (WEN) named Fiberstar one of the “Wisconsin Companies to Watch.”
