Translation

I had the opportunity to complete an exciting three-month internship in Valparaíso, Chile. During this time, I was part of the Libroalgre team, a library located in the beautiful setting of Cerro Alegre. My role during the internship was a library assistant and providing assistance to the members of this community.

During my time at Libroalgre, I actively collaborated with my coworkers in planning and carrying out various activities. These included engaging read-aloud sessions, as well as organizing puppet presentations in collaboration with different organizations. We also used the traditional Japanese technique of "Kamishibai" to visually tell stories.

One of the most rewarding parts of my role was guiding library members in finding books suitable for their interests and needs. However, what I consider most valuable about my work was the continuous effort to promote reading among the children of the Chilean community. Establishing a connection with the youth and witnessing their growing interest in reading day by day was a truly unforgettable experience.

My time in Valparaíso not only allowed me to acquire practical skills in the chilldren literature field but also gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in the rich Chilean culture. This internship left an unforgetable mark on my personal and professional development, and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to contribute to promoting reading in the local community.
