Research Interests:

Kate’s predominant research focus is on improving the welfare of dairy cattle. Specific themes include:

  • Using cow behavior to create better pre- and post-calving environments
  • Investigating novel ways to assess the impact of dairy cow-calf contact on animal welfare
  • Addressing challenges for surplus dairy calves using a mixed methods approach
