Cyndi is a Social Psychologist who specializes in the area of race, bias, and prejudice. She teaches: Social Psychology, the Psychology of Prejudice and Racism, and Careers in Psychology. Cyndi’s scholarly interests are focused on the teaching and learning process, particularly teaching and learning about controversial topics (racism, sexism, etc.). She publishes regularly on this topic and also conducts workshops and gives talks about these issues as a way to help herself and others teach better.

Cyndi also serves as the Assistant Dean for Teaching and Learning in the College of Arts and Sciences. In that capacity, she collaborates with other instructors on teaching improvement and works to improve the retention and success of students through the First Year Adventure program.

Finally, Cyndi serves as the campus representative to the Office of Professional and Instructional Development (UW System). In this role, she helps to publicize and recruit faculty for a variety of professional and teaching development opportunities.
