Cyndi is a Social Psychologist who specializes in the area of race, bias, and prejudice. She teaches: Social Psychology and the Psychology of Prejudice and Racism. Cyndi’s scholarly interests are focused on the teaching and learning process, especially teaching and learning about race and racism and inclusive teaching practices. Cyndi publishes regularly on these topics. Her most recent publication is the book Teaching about Race and Racism in the College Classroom: Notes from a White Professor (West Virginia University Press, 2019).
In addition to serving as a professor, Cyndi is the Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. In that role she provides educational development opportunities for all those who teach at UW River Falls. As an educational developer, Cyndi provides workshops and gives talks on a variety of teaching and learning issues in addition to facilitating book discussions, providing one-on-one consulting, and finding resources on teaching and learning for the campus as a whole.
