Transition to Leadership Workshop
Thursday, June 29, 2017
8:30 Check in, 9 a.m. - noon Program
Regional Development Institute, UWRF Campus
Registration Fee: $295 individual, $270 each for 3 or more from same organization
The role of a leader differs in many ways from the role of a technical expert. It takes more than a new name tag; it requires a transition from doing the work yourself to becoming one who fosters the productivity of others. This transition is even more complex if you must lead a group of former peers. This workshop provides practical guidance for those new to leadership or considering a leadership role. By attending, you will understand how to create effective boundaries, influence others, and build your capacity to lead.
Participants will learn the differences between the role of an individual contributor and a front-line supervisor and apply the principles for establishing appropriate boundaries. They will also clarify person values, assess their level of emotional intelligence, and make a plan for their own areas of development.
Individual* registrations received before June 16 will receive a voucher for a free, online class through our Noncredit Class Catalog for a $99 value.
Withdrawals and Refunds
If you are unable to attend the workshop you may send a substitute or submit a written request for withdrawal by mail, fax or e-mail. Withdrawal requests received before June 22, 2017 will qualify the participant to receive a refund, less a $20 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals received after June 22.
*Group registrants or those receiving the UWRF discounted registration are not eligible for this gift.
