All concerts, unless otherwise noted, are performed in the William Abbott Concert Hall, KFA Room 131, located in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building. Concerts may change without notice. Website will be updated as information is received.
Unless noted with concert admission, Music Department concerts are free and the public is invited to attend.

Faculty Recital: Krista Palmquist and Gail Olszewski
An art song recital based on texts featuring the literary heroines of Margaret (Goethe), Mignon (Goethe), Chloe (Longus) and Ariadne (Greek mythology.)
Featured composers are Schubert, Beethoven, Mozart, and Haydn. Sung in German and Italian.
Tuba Day is canceled for the Fall Semester; it will be re-scheduled for Spring Semester. We apologize for any inconvenience.

APEX PLAYS MONK!
The UWRF RADD Jazz Series presents the APEX Jazz Quintet, performing the music of jazz pianist, composer, and legend Thelonious Sphere Monk.

Symphony Band/University Band Concert
The Symphony Band will perform “A Piedmont Celebration” by Aldo Rafael Forte, Dwayne Milburn’s “American Hymnsong Suite”,The Carnival of Venice by J.B. Arban featuring Richard Gaynor, trombone. Dr. Kristin Tjornehoj conducts the 55-member Symphony Band. The ensemble ranks strong among college bands. It performs all types of wind literature, including several premiers of new music. Alumnus Dr. Gary Bird leads the University Band comprised of students and community members. This ensemble will play selections from “The Lion King”, “On the Mall March”, and “Overture in B Flat”. Horn player Andy Parks will be featured soloist for this performance.

FALL FESTIVAL CELEBRATION!
The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra will feature Tony Capparelli, River
Falls High School Senior, in the Mendelssohn Piano Concert No. 1 in G
minor. Other selections include Carmen Suite No. 1 by Georges Bizet,
Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral by Richard Wagner, Fiddle-Faddle by
Leroy Anderson and Johann Strauss, Jr.'s Vienna Blood Waltz. Other
soloists include Brittany Kamrath, voice; Kevin Bruggenthies, piano and
Angie Nehring, piano. Dr. Kristin Tjornehoj is the director of the 65-member orchestra. The
ensemble is comprised of students and adult community members.
Admission to the Oct. 22 concert is $5 for Adults, $3 for Seniors and $2 for
