Concert Choir

Dr. J.W. Park, Director

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Concert Choir is an undergraduate ensemble, drawing both music majors and non-music majors. Under the direction of Dr. J.W. Park, the Concert Choir performed at Wisconsin Music Educators Conference in 2004 and Wisconsin Choral Director’s Conference in 2006. The choir performs a concert tour annually, traveling overseas every other year. During its 2005 Asian tour, they performed at Muse Hall in Tokyo, Japan and shared concerts with several highly acclaimed choirs in Korea, including World Vision Children’s Choir. Recently the concert choir made another Asian tour to China and Korea. The Concert Choir prides itself in singing literature of standard choral repertoire and multicultural pieces. They have been selected to perform at ACDA regional convention in Fargo, 2008 (see the performance schedule below).

Concert Performance Schedule in Spring Semester, 2008

March 6th, Performances at ACDA Convention (NC Division) North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND.

10:00 A.M.: Concert Session 1 (Festival Concert Hall)
2:15 P.M.: Literature Forum 1 (Prairie Rose Room)
5:00 P.M.: Interest Session 3 (Prairie Rose Room)

as a demonstrating choir for “Incorporating Tai-chi Breathing into Choral Singing” will be presented by Dr. J.W. Park

April 27th, Spring Choral Concert

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Concert Choir is an undergraduate ensemble, drawing both music majors and non-music majors. Under the direction of Dr. J.W. Park, the Concert Choir has performed at the Wisconsin Music Educators Conference, Wisconsin Choral Directors Conference, and the American Choral Directors Association Regional Convention. The choir performs on tour annually, traveling overseas every other year. In May 2011, the choir traveled to Thailand and South Korea where they performed in various churches and universities and shared concerts with several highly acclaimed choirs in South Korea including Shockcho City Choir, Samchuck City Choir and the Korean Traditional Orchestra. The Concert choir prides itself in singing literature of standard choral repertoire and multicultural pieces.
