Undergraduate RSCA at UWRFRSCA--research, scholarly, and creative activity--is at the heart of the undergaduate curriculum at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. We are committed to providing a comprehensive range of opportunities for students in all disciplines to use their newly developed skills in solving genuine problems in their fields and present their solutions to their colleagues, faculty and staff, and the public. UWRF provides a variety of opportunities for students to present their RSCA. Endeavor, the UWRF electronic journal of undergraduate RSCA. MINDS @ UW, the digital institutional repository for faculty, staff, and students at UW institutions. This repository is part of a University of Wisconsin System project that provides a safe haven for published and unpublished electronic content of any discipline and is designed to capture, store, index, distribute and preserve the intellectual output of the university. RSCA Day. Each spring since 1991, UWRF has celebrated the research, scholarly, and creative activity of students, staff, and faculty by showing posters depicting their work. Also, the University of Wisconsin Library archives some RSCA Day abstracts and posters in Minds@UW.
Posters in the Rotunda. Since 2004, UW-System universities and colleges have displayed undergraduate RSCA in the Rotunda of the State Capital in Madison for the edification of legislators, legislative aides, UW-Sytem Regents and staff, government officials, UW alumni, and other interested parties in the Madison area. The UW-System maintains apage devoted to Posters in the Rotunda. Images specific to UWRF are linked below.
UW-System Symposium on Undergraduate Research. Each year, UW-System sponsors a symposium for underaduate researchers from system institutions, with speakers, presentations, exhibits, and posters. The 2004 Symposium was held on April 28 at UW-Oshkosh. Nine UWRF students presented posters depicting their work. SURSCA, the Society for Undergraduate RSCA. In Spring, 2002, a group of UWRF students formed SURSCA to foster a positive campus environment for research, scholarly and creative activities. Since then, SURSCA has hosted evening galas each fall to celebrate undergraduate RSCA; co-hosted RSCA Day; and sponsored student travel to national conferences. NCUR, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. UWRF sent its first delegation of 39 students to NCUR 2002 at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. We have since traveled to Salt Lake City (2003), Indianapolis (2004), Lexington, VA, (2005), Asheville, NC (2006), and San Rafael, CA (2007) with large contingents of students who have presented their work to national audiences.
