Department Temporary Permit Policy

RULES & POLICIES FOR DEPARTMENT ISSUED TEMPORARY PARKING PERMITS:

•  Department issued temporary parking permits are only valid for one day. The date must be entered on the line next to the word "valid" on the permit.

•  No more than two (2) permits per day may be given out by departments who keep standing copies of Temporary Permits on hand for occasional visitors without permission from the Parking Department. Use of more than the allotted amount on a daily basis can greatly impact parking on campus, especially if additional activities are occurring on a given day.

•  Department issued temporary parking permits are for visitors only. Anyone requesting a temporary permit other than a visitor must contact the Parking Department directly.

•  Requests for Temporary Permits must be submitted by electronic form..

•  All permits must be logged on the "Department Temporary Parking Permit Log". When additional permits are needed, completed log must be sent to the Parking Department. Additional requests will not be processed until completed log is received.

•  Any Faculty/Staff, Classified Employee, or Student found to be abusing this policy will have their parking privileges revoked. In addition, the Parking Department is authorized by Wisconsin Administrative Code 18.06 to enforce parking compliance through the issuance of citations for violations of University parking regulations, including misuse of parking services.

•  If a temporary permit holder cannot find space in the lot indicated on the parking permit, contact the Parking Department immediately on the day of the unavailability at (715) 425-3333, otherwise any citation received will be enforced.

•  If a guest, visitor, client, etc. fails to display their permit, or parks in an area other than indicated on the permit, they are subject to a citation. Such citations will be the responsibility of the permit holder and will not be voided by the Parking Department. If they wish to dispute the citation, they must follow the appeal process.

•  Any department not complying with this policy will lose the right to receive Department Temporary Permits.
