Very high proportions of those over 65 in Minnesota, Wisconsin and the St. Croix River Valley counties had no difficulties with self-care as of 2022.
Most St. Croix River Valley counties have somewhat higher proportions of their 65+ populations who have no difficulties with self-care than their respective state averages.
The exceptions are Pierce and Chisago counties, which have a slightly higher proportion of its 65+ population who do have some self-care difficulties compared to their respective state averages.
Because the scale of the chart runs from 90% to 100%, the decrease in the percentage of those 65 and older with no difficulties with self-care from 2013 to 2014 looks much more substantial than it was.
The proportion of residents in Wisconsin and its St. Croix River Valley counties fell in 2020 (possibly as a reflection of the COVID-19 pandemic in health care), and has not risen to pre-pandemic levels since then.
Other than Pierce County, the other St. Croix River Valley counties have consistently had higher proportions of their 65+ populations with no self-care difficulties.
