Parking Announcement

**Note: Effective April 27, 2015; Visa cards will no longer be accepted. Discover Card and Master Card payments will incur a convenience fee of 2.5%. Echeck payments will incur a convenience fee of $1.75. The convenience fee will be added to your credit card or echeck payment.

Payments may be made directly to University Parking in the form of cash or check without incurring a convenience fee.

Student Parking Information

  • Parking lots are identified with a sign at each entrance including the lot name and permit type required.
  • Parking enforcement times/locations can be found at Parking Enforcement.
  • Displaying a permit authorizes parking only in the specific location listed on the permit. Student permits for O, E, N, and K lots are also valid in PAY3.
  • Ownership of the parking permit remains with UWRF Parking. Transferring, lending, or selling a permit to another person is prohibited and may result in the any/all of the following: parking citations and/or UWS 18.08 citations (up to but not limited to $283.50), revocation of parking privileges, void any parking permit refund value.
  • The registered permit holder is responsible for any parking violations issued to the vehicle bearing the permit.
  • Student permits are valid from August 1st thru the following year August 31st. (see expiration date stated on the permit.)
  • A Student parking permits returned prior to September 1st is subject to a $25.00 administrative fee.
  • Student parking permits are non-refundable after February 10th. Please see Parking Refund Policy for details.
  • Any student or visitor can utilize Public Parking.
  • If your desired location is sold out or there are no more permits available for sale, you can place yourself on a waitlist which will only satisfied if a permit becomes available.

What are My Options?

I live in a residential hall.

A university residential student can choose to purchase a university permit or park on the city streets.

Parking permits available for residential students are:

  • Locations with a housing contract: E, K, N, O. Location with or without a signed housing contract: PAY3(24).
  • If you do not have a signed housing contract by July 15th E, K, N, and O permits will be exchanged to a PAY3(24) permit.
  • OVT - Temporary parking permits are available for a daily rate, including overnight. (You must print and display this permit) These can also be purchased for your visitors. Valid in PAY3 or R Meters only.
  • Permits for E, K, N, O lots must be returned to University Parking if you move off campus before the academic year is completed.

I live off campus

Non-Residential Students (any student that lives off campus) can choose to purchase a permit, utilize a university meter or city street parking.

Permit:

  • Non-Residential Students Parking Lot: PAY3 (by the Falcon Center)
    • PAY3(CM) is valid from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. with no parking overnight.
    • PAY3(24) is valid 24 hours a day including overnight.
  • OVT - Temporary parking permits are available for a daily rate, including overnight. (You must print and display this permit) These permits can also be purchased for your visitors. Valid in PAY3 or R meters only.

Public Parking:

City Streets:

Parking is available on the city streets. City streets are the jurisdiction of the city of River Falls. City rules and regulations can be obtained from their website:  http://www.rfcity.org/police_home.asplink

When Can I Purchase A Permit?

Permits will be sold on a first come first serve basis, based on seniority. Please see chart.

How do I get my permit?

Student Permit Space enforcement will lapses from the last Saturday of August resuming 7pm, the first Tuesday of September. All student parking permits must be displayed by such date. All other spaces will be enforced as signed.
RESIDENTIAL STUDENTS

If you purchased your permit before 7am on the last Thursday of August your permit will be campus mailed to you. Please check your campus mail box.

If you purchased your permit after 7am on the last Thursday of August, your permit will be available for pickup on the First Tuesday of September in the parking office at 103 Regional Development Institute (RDI). Office Hours: 7:45am-4:30pm


NON-RESIDENTIAL STUDENTS

Your permit will be available for pickup on the First Tuesday of September in the parking office at 103 Regional Development Institute (RDI). Office Hours: 7:45am-4:30pm
