SPECIAL NOTE

Two opportunities to give to the River Falls' community are available (donations will be collected during Family Day check-in from 7:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.):

1. The Kinnickinnic Backpack Program provides food to children on weekends during the school year when other resources such as free and reduced school lunches are not available. Backpacks filled with nutritious items from all the food groups are distributed on Fridays to participating children in the River Falls public schools.

This year Kinnickinnic Backpack Program, UWRF, and Sodexo (UWRF's Dining Service Provider) are teaming up to provide more food for children in the River Falls' community!  Please feel free to bring one of the following items for donation on Family Day: a canned fruit item (light syrup or in own juice), a can of tuna, a box of cold or hot cereals (not sugary ones), or a box of pancake mix.

2. As a way to support our troops, please join our campus in participating in a Veteran's Day Care Package Drive.  All items will be collected, packaged, and sent overseas by the UWRF Veteran's Club. Our troops overseas have requested the following items.

- Beef jerky
- Protein bars
- Cereal bars
- Gum
- Pop tarts
- Nuts and trail mix
- Hygiene products (soap, shampoo, razors, etc.)
- Footballs
- Gatorade and other drink powder
- DVDs
- Coffee
- Laundry detergent
- Limit the candy (we're candy-ed out here and most everywhere)
- Cash donations are also being accepted to help with the cost for mailing the packages.  Please make checks to UWRF Veterans Club.
