Complete student applications are due in the Administrative Office of the Wisconsin in Scotland program by the following absolute deadlines. The earlier students submit their complete applications, the more certain it is they will be guaranteed a spot.

Good news! There is now extra incentive to complete your application early. Complete your application by the priority deadlines listed below, and receive an Experience Scotland program t-shirt! If there are spots available, applications will be accepted until the absolute deadline. Please check with the Office of International Education/Programs on your home campus to determine what their in-house deadlines are. Check with the Administrative Office of the Wisconsin in Scotland program to determine the possibility of participation after deadlines have passed.

  • Fall 2014 - Priority deadline: March 15, 2014; Absolute deadline: May 15, 2014
  • Spring 2015 - Priority deadline:  September 1, 2014; Absolute deadline: November 1, 2014
  • Summer 2015 - Priority deadline: February 1, 2015; Absolute deadline: April 1, 2015

Pre-Departure Orientation Dates for UWRF Summer & Fall 2014 WIS participants includes a General Orientation session and an Experience Scotland Orientation; plan on attending both a general and Scotland session.

General Orientation: Global Connections 102 Hagestad Hall 

Semester-length (fall) program participants, plan on attending one of the following General Orientations:

Wednesday, 16 April 2014 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm OR Thursday, 17 April 2014 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Short-term (summer) program participants, plan on attending one of the following General Orientations:

Monday, 14 April 2014 2:00-3:30 pm OR Tuesday 15 April 2014 6:00-7:30 pm

Experience Scotland Orientation:  Thursday, 24 April 2014  6:00 pm-9:00 pm -  Global Connections 102 Hagestad Hall  

Non UWRF participants - please confirm with the office of International Education/Programs on your home campus for pre-departure orientation dates. 

Summer 2014 Student Check-in at Dalkeith House

As you make your travel arrangements, please keep the following in mind:

Official check-in time at Dalkeith House is between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on: 

Summer Module 1 - 17 May 2014
Summer Module 2 - 14 June 2014
Summer Module 3 - 12 July 2014

In order to ensure a successful term, students are required to participate in orientation activities throughout the weekend.

Orientation will begin at 3:30 p.m. on all above dates.

If you need to arrive prior to 9:00 a.m. on orientation date, please e-mail Patty Watters, Resident Director of Operations, patty.watters@googlemail.commail, to make arrangements.  It may be possible to arrive a day or two early.

Any student staying at the house prior to check-in may be assigned to a guest room and will not be able to check into his/her room assignment until official check-in begins.

A few weeks before the program begins you will receive an e-mail from the program asking for your flight details. It is imperative that you respond in a timely manner to this request.

Summer participants, if you would like to take advantage of airport pickup service provided by the WIS program, you must arrive at the airport in Edinburgh before 12:15 p.m. on the first day of orientation. A shuttle will be waiting to meet students for departure to Dalkeith House. (Note: This means departing the U.S. the day before your orientation dates, i.e. depart May 16 for May 17 orientation.) Fall 2014 Student Check-in at Dalkeith House

As you make your travel arrangements, please keep the following in mind:

Official check-in time at Dalkeith House is between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on August 15, 2014.  Orientation begins at 3:30 p.m. on August 15, 2014. (Note: This means departing the U.S. the day before your orientation date, i.e. depart August 14 for August 15 orientation.)  Students should schedule airfare arriving no later than noon on August 15 to ensure adequate time to clear immigration and travel to Dalkeith House in time to participate in all orientation activities.

In order to ensure a successful term, students are required to participate in orientation activities throughout the weekend.

If you need to arrive prior to 9:00 a.m. on orientation date, please e-mail Patty Watters, Resident Director of Operations, patty.watters@googlemail.com, to make arrangements.  Accommodation for students arriving August 13-15 is included in program fee.  No meals are provided during this time.  Any student arriving prior to August 13 will be required to pay guest rates at Dalkeith House.
