UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
The River Falls Police Department monitors weather conditions, initiating the outdoor warning sirens to alert the community of severe conditions that may compromise safety. Regular testing is required to ensure the system is functioning properly. Audible testing of the sirens will resume in March 2016. The schedule for 2016 is below. Monday, March 28th at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, March 29th at 1 p.m.
Thursday, April 14th at 1:45 p.m.
-Make-up date – Friday, April 15th at 1:45 p.m.
Monday, May 23rd at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, May 24th at 1 p.m.
Monday, June 27th at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, June 28th at 1 p.m.
Monday, July 25th at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, July 26th at 1 p.m.
Monday, August 22nd at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, August 23rd at 1 p.m.
Monday, September 26th at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, September 27th at 1 p.m.
On duty staff at the River Falls Police Department monitor developing weather conditions and initiate activation of the weather sirens based on the following protocol.

A. When conditions exist indicating immediate danger of a tornado or severe thunderstorm.
B. If the National Weather Service issues a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning and such conditions are threatening locally.
C. When local law enforcement from the area advise of approaching severe weather conditions, sightings of tornadoes or high winds.
D. If storm conditions exist and public sightings of tornadoes or high winds are reported locally.
