Scholarship Opportunities

There are many great scholarship opportunities available for incoming students to UW-River Falls! Below are just a few of the scholarships we have highlighted for the new students in Fall 2015. 

You must be admitted and submit a scholarship applicationlink to be considered for these opportunities. While students may be eligible for one or more of these scholarships, this is a competitive process and students are encouraged to apply early and submit quality materials. 


Chancellor's Scholarships:
 Two full tuition and four half tuition scholarships, renewable for up to four years, will be awarded to six incoming freshmen. Annual tuition for a currently-enrolled, full-time student is approximately $8,200. This award also includes an additional $2,000 stipend that may be used for undergraduate research or to study abroad during junior or senior year. Incoming freshmen are competitively selected based on academic merit, extracurricular involvement and leadership potential. Students who have a 28 ACT and rank in the top 10% (3.75 GPA for high schools that do not rank) will be considered for an on campus interview to be held January 30, 2015. 

Falcon Scholars: Eighty (80) $1,000 scholarships, renewable for up to four years, will be awarded to incoming freshmen. This award also includes an additional $2,000 stipend that may be used for undergraduate research or to study abroad during junior or senior year. Students considered for Falcon Scholars will have a 25 ACT or rank in the top 25% (3.5 GPA for high schools that do not rank). 

Honors Program Scholarship: Twenty-five (25) $2,500 scholarships, renewable for a second year, will be awarded to incoming freshmen who have been accepted into the Honors Program. In order to qualify for the Honors Program, students must have a 27 ACT or higher or must rank in the top 10% (3.75 GPA for high schools that do not rank) of their graduating class to be considered for this scholarship. Students will need to apply and be part of the Honors Program in order to be considered for this scholarship.

Opportunity Scholarship: Ten (10) $3,000 scholarships, renewable for up to four years, will be awarded to ethnically diverse or economically disadvantaged students (African American, American Indian, Hispanic or Asian). Students must be accepted and planning to enroll at UWRF as a first year, full-time, degree seeking student for Fall 2015, be a United States citizen or permanent resident and have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and have demonstrated participation in community service, employment, extracurricular or other activities. 

Transfer Student Scholarship: Ten (10) $2,500 one time awards will be made to transfer students from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a 3.25 GPA or higher from their most recent institution. Students must be planning to enroll at UWRF as a degree seeking student for Fall 2015 to receive full consideration. Overall GPA, co-curricular activities, volunteer experience, and other individuals' factors such as rigor of coursework may also be considered. The priority deadline is April 1st. 

 

 

How to Apply:

To be considered for Fall 2015 incoming student scholarships, students must be admitted no later than January 30, 2015.

Students will need to fill out an online scholarship applicationlink to be automatically considered for each of these scholarships upon admission.
