Celebrate 50 Years of Quarter Abroad/Semester Abroad: Europe!

In 1963 Dr. Robert B. ”Doc” Bailey, III, launched a unique study abroad program that would give a group of “wholesome, unspoiled, diligent [students], possessed of great intellectual curiosity” a chance to discover Europe—and themselves. The Wisconsin State College-River Falls Quarter Abroad Program was born. Today, 50 years and over 1000 students later, the UW-River Falls Semester Abroad: Europe Program still embodies “Doc” Bailey’s philosophy of experiential learning and cultural immersion through independent study and travel.
