UW-River Falls welcomes the class of 2020 with a Week of Welcome

August 30, 2016--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will welcome the class of 2020 to campus beginning this weekend. With more than 1,200 new students arriving, this is UW-River Falls largest freshman class in five years. The academic year will kick off with the Week of Welcome (WOW) and Move-In Day on Saturday, Sept. 3.

"The Week of Welcome is about the campus and community coming together to welcome our new students to UWRF," said Adam Ludwig, assistant director of New Student and Family Programs. "River Falls becomes their new home for 8-9 months of the year and this is our first opportunity to engage them and get them connected."

An annual event, WOW helps to provide students with an enhanced sense of belonging, an easier immersion into campus culture, and a fun way to transition from high school to campus life. Led by nearly 50 upper-class students, also known as Orientation and Transition Leaders, WOW works to ensure all students find a campus connection and ultimately helps increase first year success.
