Record-breaking Career Fair

October 16, 2018 - A record setting number of students and employers from across the Midwest participated in the fall Career Fair Oct. 10 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

During the daylong fair, 824 students met with 132 employers in UWRF’s University Center. Career Week at UW-River Falls has become a premier recruiting opportunity for employers as they seek the best and the brightest.

Melissa Wilson, director of Career Services, said the high turnout is reflective, in part, of the current state of the economy, but more likely, the eagerness of UWRF students to put their education to work.

Career Week on campus consists of a networking social where employers and students have an opportunity to connect in a relaxed atmosphere; a resume roundtable event where employers spend 10-15 minutes with students and conduct quick resume reviews; and the Career Fair which is open to all UWRF students and alumni interested in exploring careers, networking with professionals and learning about available jobs and internships.

Career Week is sponsored by Career Services, a student-focused office that provides comprehensive career planning services to UW-River Falls students and alumni. By providing expertise, resources, and support, students are empowered to make and implement well-conceived career plans.

Consistently ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best regional universities, UWRF prides itself on preparing students for successful and rewarding post-graduate careers by offering exceptional educational experiences, including small class sizes where faculty are invested in collaborative learning, a robust international education program and a Midwest campus setting.
