Pulitzer-Prize Winning Writer and Investigative Reporter Bob Woodward to Speak at UW-River Falls

March 31, 2014--Bob Woodward, two-time Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter and non-fiction writer, will be the keynote speaker for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Third Annual Scholarship Benefit Dinner to be held on campus Friday, May 2.   

Community members and university supporters are invited to attend the Scholarship Benefit Dinner. The evening will begin at 5 p.m. in the University Center with a buffet dinner followed by a program and keynote address by Woodward at 7 p.m. in Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building. Woodward, considered the most famous investigative reporter in America, is currently serving as assistant managing editor of the Washington Post where he has worked since 1971. Throughout his 40-plus year career with the Washington Post, Woodward has won nearly every American journalism award, including the Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on the Watergate scandal in 1973 and a second Pulitzer for his work as lead reporter on the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

"The Annual Scholarship Benefit Dinner has indeed become a signature event for the university."   

The first two Scholarship Benefits raised more than $375,000 in scholarships for students at UW-River Falls. In 2013-14, the UW-River Falls Foundation awarded more than $777,000 in scholarships, the third highest among the thirteen universities in the UW System.
