Registration extended for test preparation classes
May 18, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is still accepting registrations for summer classes that prepare college-bound students to take the ACT or GRE admissions exams. In addition, the UWRF has extended the early registration discounts for the June and July classes.

Bekkum named 2018 Wisconsin Distinguished Agriculturalist
April 30, 2018 –Alumnus Victor Bekkum has been named the 2018 Wisconsin Distinguished Agriculturalist by the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) at UW-River Falls. Bekkum is a professor emeritus of agricultural engineering at Iowa State University. He was presented with the award by CAFES Dean Dale Gallenberg at the college’s 52nd Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet April 19.

College of Business and Economics students recognized for exceptional leadership
May 15, 2018 - Twelve College of Business and Economics (CBE) students at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls were recognized with the Dean’s Award for Excellence at the annual CBE awards program April 30. The awards recognize and celebrate the achievements of both undergraduate and graduate students for exceptional leadership and dedication to the college.
 
Commencement ceremonies are May 12
May 1, 2018-- Approximately 857 bachelor's and master's degree students will receive degrees from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls following two commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 12, in the Knowles Field House at the Falcon Center.
 
English language transition director earns Fulbright Award
May 15, 2018 – English Language Transition (ELT) Program Director Rhonda Petree at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has received a Fulbright Award to teach in Estonia during the 2018-19 academic year.
 
Falcon sculpture on Karges Center to be moved Wednesday
May 8, 2018 – A University of Wisconsin-River Falls icon will find a new home Wednesday.
 
Five students receive Chancellor’s awards
May 7, 2018 – University of Wisconsin-River Falls Chancellor Dean Van Galen presented awards to five students April 26 at the University Center. The Chancellor’s Award for Students is the highest non-academic honor a UW-River Falls student can receive. Recipients earn the award by showing distinguished leadership and service during their time on campus.

Horse judging team excels at the Midwest Horse Fair
May 14, 2018 -- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Horse Judging Team earned top placements at the Midwest Horse Fair Judging Competition in Madison April 20. The team earned first place in the Seniors Team Division and team member Vicki Payne also won first overall in the Seniors Individual Division.

IHSA Western Show Team and Hunt Seat Team members place at nationals
May 23, 2018 - Members of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Western Show Team and Hunt Seat Team competed at the IHSA National Championships May 3-6 in Harrisburg, Pa. The UWRF Western Show Team tied for 4th place overall in the team competition at nationals.
 
Karges Center deconstruction scheduled to begin Monday
May 18, 2018 - Formal deconstruction work on the R.A. Karges Center at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will begin on Monday, May 21, weather permitting.

Open house informational sessions for teachers offered
May 18, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls invites teachers and other educational professionals interested in improving their teaching practice and earning a master’s degree to attend one of two informational sessions this month.
 
Small Business Development Center receives statewide honor
May 31, 2018 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Small Business Development Center (SBDC) received statewide recognition as the Center of the Year at the Wisconsin SBDC Network Conference in Milwaukee May 3.
 
Storlie and Krueger named CAFES outstanding seniors
May 3, 2018 – The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls presented two awards to outstanding seniors at their 35th annual Senior Supper on April 25. The event is sponsored by the CAFES Alumni Association to recognize the accomplishments of the graduating seniors and to welcome them into the ranks of alumni.
 
Tuition stipends still available for students entering graduate teacher licensing program at UW-River Falls
May 4, 2018 -- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls still has funds available for tuition stipends for students enrolled this summer in a graduate-level program for an initial teacher license.
 
UW-River Falls CAFES awards scholarships and recognizes outstanding service
May 3, 2018 – A total of $163,000 was awarded to students in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls at their 52nd Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet April 19 at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club.
