Oct. 4, 2023 - Acclaimed author and professor of nutrition and health Marion Nestle will discuss public perceptions of diets and health at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Nestle’s presentation is from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic Theater on the third floor of the University Center, 501 Wild Rose Ave. Her discussion will also cover new information related to ultra-processed foods, U.S. dietary guidelines, and the EAT-Lancet recommended diet for planetary health. 

Refreshments will be provided at the event, which is free to attend. Prior to Nestle’s presentation to the public, she will host a discussion session with UWRF students. 

Nestle’s presentation is part of the Walker D. and Helen Bryant Wyman Visiting Professorship Series which enables the College of Arts and Sciences to bring relevant speakers to campus. 

Nestle is the emerita Paulette Goddard Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University, where she also is a professor of sociology. She also is a visiting professor in the Cornell Division of Nutritional Sciences.
