UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
March 30, 2020
Dear UW-River Falls Campus Community:
The past few weeks have jolted each of us, professionally and personally. We have all experienced the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in different ways. Within our university community, I have seen countless examples of commitment, creativity, patience, and servant leadership. This crisis has, indeed, brought out the best in us. I am deeply grateful to each of you.
Today, the spring semester resumes for our students. Our faculty and instructors are faced with the challenge of educating students in new ways, and this is requiring flexibility and a substantial amount of work. In fact, there will continue to be challenges for all of our UWRF colleagues as we seek to educate, support, and provide services to our campus community during an unprecedented time.
We need to realize that even our best efforts will lead to imperfect results. We will make some mistakes from which we will learn. We will need to count on others for ideas and support. In the end, I know that we will do our best because we are a community of talented people who care.
Mary and I hope that you stay well. Best wishes for a good week.
Sincerely,
Dean Van Galen, Ph.D.
Chancellor
