Health and Physical Education

The Physical Education Academy is a Physical Education program serving students in the River Falls area. Typically the student body consists of students that are home-schooled. Our mission is to provide all of our students a quality physical education opportunity that offers a unique variety of unique experiences and opportunities while providing invaluable teaching experience for Physical Education students at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. The Physical Education Academy is staffed by UWRF university students that are majoring in Health and Physical Education and will teach the classes. James Gostomski, the Director of Physical Education, will supervise all lesson plans and instruction. 

The Physical Education Academy Homeschool students will be introduced to a variety of different activities designed to help the students improve motor skills and fitness levels as well as develop positive social behavior. Activities will include cooperative games, locomotor and non-locomotor skills, catching and throwing, parachute, SPARK Physical Education Curriculum Activities, team sports, nontraditional activities and fitness games.  

The program is scheduled on a monthly basis in the Fall and Spring semesters. We will be offering a K-2 session, Grades 3-6 session and 7-12 session each semester.

Program Requirements:

1. Students need to wear tennis shoes and athletic clothing.
2. Student need to be picked up promptly when their class ends as students and professor have other classes to attend to.
3. All forms are to be completed and submitted the first day of class.
4. Water Bottles with name of student on it is recommended. 
5. Parking in Q lot area next to North Hall and it is a pay lot for a nominal fee per hour.
6. The first 25 students that sign up are registered for each session and then a waiting list is started. 

Fee: $15 per student and $5 for each additional sibling. Please make checks out to HPE Club.

GRADES 7-12 will meet Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Dates: February 3, February 17th, March 3rd, March 10th, March 31st, April 7th, April 21st, May 5th

GRADES 3-6 will meet Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

GRADES K-2 will meet Tuesdays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
