HPE club

 

Club Description: Welcome to the Health and Physical Education Club. This club is part of the Health and Physical Education major. As a club, we meet at least 3 tims each semester for an Activity Game Night. In February, we have our Annual Club meeting with guest speakers. We also host 3 events during the year to raise money for activities and to send students to different conferences. 

Events we host: 5K Turkey Trot Run, 5K Spring Fun Run, and Emogene Nelson Conference

Molly Wistl: Molly is from Maplewood, MN. She chose Health and Physical Education with an Adapted Physical Education Minor because she enjoys working with kids. She wants to be able to find an activity they cal all learn to enjoy throughout thier lives and to promote physical activity while maintaining a healthy active lifestyle. For fun, she enjoys bike riding, softall, and hanging out with family and friends.

Alex Larson: Alex is from the small-town Strum Wisconsin, which is about one hour south east of River Falls. He enjoys the small town feel of River Falls and enjoys that it provides an opportunity to experience the bigger city feel as well. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, watching movies, and doing just about anything outside. Alex is also a committed sports fan, with the Packers being his favorite team to follow and cheer for!

Rebecca (Becca) Opp: Becca is in her second year here at UWRF. She was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but is currently living in Farmington, MN. Her older sister, Marissa is in her last year at Winona State University studying Elementary Education. Her mom and dad met while they were both teachers, so they are becoming a family of educators! She is also an animal lover. She is extremey passionate about Health and Physical Education which is why she loves what she is studying and the career she is pursuing. In addition to being the treasure of the HPE Club she is also on the Track and Field team. Pushing her body to the limits and applying what she is studying in school to her athletic performance on the track is beyond rewarding.

Homeschool Coordinator/Event Coordinator

Morgan Wilson: Morgan came to UWRF in 2015 and will be graduating in the Fall of 2019. She is from Rochester, MN. Morgan works at Kids Club here in RIver Falls during the school year and Rochester Park and Rec Adapted Day Camp during the summer. She has been the homeschool coordinator and event coordinator since 2016. The events she oversees are the 5K Fun Runs, Emogene Nelson Conference, and the Activity Nights. She chose Health and Physical Education as a major because she loves working with kids. The challenge of finding different ways to help a child get a skill is the best part of this profession for her. She also loves being active and being outdoors as much as possible.
