Each week the University Speech-Language & Hearing Clinic, located in Room B31, WEB, provides speech-language, hearing and swallowing evaluation and therapy services to approximately 50-60 individuals of all ages from River Falls and surrounding communities.
Services are offered in the areas of:
Hearing & hearing aid maintenance
Articulation/Phonology
Foreign accent reduction
Stuttering
Voice
Language
Feeding & swallowing
Cognitive aspects of communication
Social aspects of communication
Augmentative/Alternative communication
In addition to these individual services, the clinic provides:
regular support groups for individuals with aphasia, stuttering and fear of speaking
assistance to the University Preschool language facilitation groups for children in need
assistance to local school districts in providing on-site speech and hearing screenings for children in preschool through fifth grade
speech-language services to River Falls Area Hospital
Clinical services are provided by graduate students in the Department of Communicative Disorders. Supervision is provided by faculty and staff who are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Services are provided free to students. The clinic bills 3rd party insurance and offers a sliding fee scale to others.
