Society for Human Resource Management

Membership:

  • There is no discrimination in individual membership or chapter affiliations because of race, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, or parental status. 

  • Dues are $10 per academic year.

Activities:

  • Our activities include professional presentations, networking, attending presentations given by Twin Cities chapters of SHRM and the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and offer opportunities to prepare for HR certification and participate in HR games (a college-level Jeopardy-like contest).

Mission Statement:

A chapter of the national organization, SHRM, was started here on campus in 2002.  The purposes of this chapter are:
 
a) To acquaint students, considering a future in business, with the field of human resource management and/or labor relations.

b) To keep students up-to-date on new developments in the field of human resource management.

c) To provide learning opportunities through interaction with human resource practitioners.

d) To promote the development of truly professional human resource managers for the future.

e) To encourage adherence to the Code of Ethics of the Society for Human Resource Management.
