Student learning is the central activity of the College of Business and Economics. To gain feedback on how effectively we accomplish this activity, CBE has a systematic process for assessing student learning. The process is grounded in a philosophy that:
The College has adopted global learning outcomes, skills and perspectives. All programs contribute to achieving these. The focus and level of contribution varies by discipline.
Learning Outcome 1:
Business Administration and Accounting graduates from the College of Business and Economics are able to: demonstrate and apply knowledge gained in the accounting, computer science, economics, finance, management, marketing, statistics, and strategy disciplines.
Learning Outcome 2:
Business Administration and Accounting graduates from the College of Business and Economics are able to: demonstrate awareness of the impact of globalization and the effects of technology and technological innovation, including the ability to use software and demonstrate the ability to work in teams, communicate professionally in written form, and engage in professional decision making processes.
The College’s AoL process is grounded in undergraduate and graduate program-level learning outcomes. Each program has a faculty developed Assurance of Learning Plan that documents its learning outcomes and AoL process. Program level AoL may be viewed under each program.
