College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences
Welcome to the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. Around campus you’ll hear us called CAFES and we’re home to more than a dozen majors, two laboratory farms, award-winning faculty, incredible hands-on learning opportunities and so much more. We pride ourselves on providing a top-tier education, one where you’ll have a leg up on your career after graduation. Experiences like internships, research, professional development and hands-on classwork are crucial to your success so that’s why we’re committed to supporting you every step of the way.
Here in CAFES, you’re taught by our faculty, not teaching assistants. They’re in the classrooms, labs, greenhouse, farms, fields, barns and workshops with you from day one. They are more than teachers, they’re mentors. They provide a rich learning environment where as early as your first semester you’ll have access to facilities, tools, animals and instruments you won’t have elsewhere. You'll even be able to perform research side by side with faculty - as an undergraduate!
Where does all this hands-on learning take place? Right here in our world-class facilities! You’ll learn critical skills on cutting-edge tools in current and relevant facilities. We’ve got two lab farms that span several hundred acres and house our animal and crop production enterprises, a Dairy Learning Center, greenhouse complex, laboratory facilities ranging from water quality to physiology labs, food processing plants and more. Having so many resources at your fingertips provides endless high-impact, personalized learning opportunities.
We’re more than just our faculty and facilities though. We’re committed to providing you a comprehensive experience, that’s why we provide dedicated internship support, loads of student teams and organizations, scholarship funds and so much more. Come see what’s waiting for you in CAFES.

See You at the Farm
