ACT Classes Offered Live-Online

Our ACT test prep classes provide students with the tools they need to prepare for and succeed on the ACT. The ACT Live-Online Blitz classes are strategically scheduled in the weeks leading up to the most popular ACT test dates and provide the following features:

  • Official preparation guide including practice tests from ACT
  • Course workbook and thorough presentations and explanations
  • Easy-to-follow study plan
  • Access to online support resources, including recorded class sessions, to review after the class ends

ACT Live-Online 
September 24 - October 20, 2020; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8p.m.
October 27 - November 19, 2020; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8p.m.

January 7 - February 2, 2021; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8p.m.
February 14 - April 11, 2021; Sunday, 3-5p.m.

ACT Live-Online sessions provide all the same preparation of a traditional classroom sessions from the comfort and convenience of your home. The online class format is delivered by a live instructor, providing the interactivity of a classroom experience and the convenience of an online course. Sessions are recorded and made available for review after the class ends. These courses generally meet twice a week and include 16 hours of instruction. Courses are often scheduled in the weeks leading up to the most popular ACT exam dates.

Students receive an in-depth review of the exam questions, insights into strategies for succeeding on standardized tests, and a comprehensive study plan. Class sessions use real test questions to show just how these skills are used to improve your scores. 

The curriculum includes the following:

Math Topics

  • Practice solution techniques for problems containing variables.
  • Learn efficient approaches to complicated multi-step problems.
  • Discover tactics for translating difficult word problems into equations.

English Topics

  • Identify correct idiomatic speech in sentence correction problems.
  • Understand the basic concepts of rhetorical construction.
  • Learn which grammar errors are most frequently tested.

Reading Topics

  • Understand which part of the passage to read for reading comprehension questions.
  • Recognize the difference between global and local test items.
  • Identify passages written from the journalistic and engaged perspectives.

Science Reasoning Topics

  • Identify parameters for test items involving graphs and charts.
  • Interpolate or extrapolate answers from data given in tables.
  • Recognize the point of an experiment in research summary items.

General Test Taking Topics

  • Use the process of elimination.
  • Master time management skills.
  • Minimize test anxiety.
  • Identify common distractors.

System Requirements

The live-online ACT review sessions use a free Adobe Connect browser plug-in. The only requirements are high speed internet access and speakers or headphones. 

Course materials will be delivered directly to your home, or arrangements can be made for you to pick them up at the UWRF Continuing Education Office. We recommend registering at least four (4) business days in advance of the class start date to ensure timely delivery of your student package.
