Graduate Programs

The Teacher Education Department's graduate programs can help you change careers, gain licensure to be a school administrator, teach in a Montessori school and expand your current teaching ability. Please visit the following degree pages to view descriptions and course requirements.  

  • Elementary Education Initial Certification MSE — This program is for individuals with an undergraduate degree in an area other than education who want to become certified to teach in an elementary or middle school. It's also for individuals who want to add elementary certification to a current teaching license.
  • Montessori Teacher Education —  This program is for teachers seeking a Montessori credential to teach in public or private Montessori schools, and candidates with a bachelor's degree seeking Montessori credential to teach in a private Montessori school.
  • Principal Licensure — This program is for anyone interested in a leadership role in school administration. It allows educators and current administrators to be school principals in public or private schools in Wisconsin.
  • Reading — Candidates for this program are typically educators in elementary, middle and secondary schools who want to become reading teachers or reading specialists.
  • STEMteach — This program gives graduates and working professionals with a background in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, or STEM, the ability to obtain a teaching license. It also allows undergraduates finishing a STEM major to add teaching credentials to their degree.
