The Burnett County Development Association (BCDA), a county wide organization that assists in creating economic opportunities for residents, businesses and communities in Burnett County, decided to conduct a study with a goal of determining if there are things Burnett County could do to encourage seasonal homeowners to extend their stay in the County and, if applicable, consider moving a business they own or operate to Burnett County.
The Chequamegon Bay Regional Housing Coalition, a partnership of local municipalities, housing authorities and economic development organizations working to assess regional housing needs, decided to conduct a regional housing study with a goal of determining opinions about regional housing conditions and attitudes in the Chequamegon Bay region of Northern Wisconsin.
With the support of the Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NWRPC), the Housing Coalition received a Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) to assist with the costs of the study. In addition to the Housing Coalition, and the NWRPC, the survey was co-sponsored by 14 cities and towns in the region: the Cities of Ashland, Bayfield, and Washburn, and the Towns of Barksdale, Bayfield, Bayview, Bell, Cable, Grand View, Iron River, La Pointe, Namakagon, Russell, and Washburn, which will collectively be called sponsoring or participating communities/jurisdictions.
This survey gathered input from City residents regarding a range of sustainability issues. Feedback gathered will provide input into a sustainability plan to be developed by the City of Sun Prairie.
Tri-County Recycling is a partnership between Brown, Outagamie and Winnebago Counties that creates landfill and recycling efficiencies for the benefit of area residents. The purpose of this study was to obtain input about recycling from younger residents of the three counties, specifically what communication outlets would be most beneficial to pursue when providing outreach, education, and public awareness of recycling issues.
The purpose of this study was to gather opinions from Ozaukee County residents concerning issues related to parks, recreation, natural areas, and open space preservation in Ozaukee County as the County updates its Park and Open Space Plan.
43 businesses in Whitewater, Wisconsin and 21 in Forest County, Wisconsin were interviewed by UW-Extension educators Steve Chmielewski and Chris Stark respectively. The purpose of this study was to gather information from Wausau area residents to learn more about community beliefs and behaviors regarding medication misuse and abuse, specifically the frequency of medication abuse, perception of harm and availability, and to evaluate local medication disposal efforts. In addition, trend analysis was conducted to measure differences in beliefs and behaviors over time.
This was the fifth time this set of data has been collected. The medication assessment survey was first conducted by telephone in 2011 for the Marathon County Health Department by the Strategic Research Institute at St. Norbert College. Comparable mail surveys were done by the Survey Research Center at UW-River Falls (SRC) in 2013, 2015, and 2017. In 2013, two questions about the awareness of the AOD Partnership and Pushback Initiative were added to the survey.

UWEX Barron County requested assistance from the Survey Research Center (SRC) at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with both the formulation of surveys for CCP Mentor Program participants and the evaluation of the data collected from the surveys.
The purpose of this study was to gather information from residents and business owners about issues related to high-speed Internet service in the Village of Spring Green and the Town of Spring Green.
The purpose of this study was to gather information from Wausau area residents with respect to the prevalence of medication misuse, perception of prescription drug availability through households or health care providers, perception of risk associated with such misuse, as well as local medication diversion and disposal efforts. In 2017, the SRC drew two samples of households, one from within the Wausau metro area (comprising the city of Wausau, Schofield, Rothschild, Weston and Rib Mountain) and a second from outside of the Wausau metro area as “controls” to see if efforts to reduce prescription drug abuse problems have had a measurable impact on behaviors and knowledge.
The purpose of this study was to gather resident input about planning for the future of the Doyle Park Swimming Pool. The current pool has served the community for nearly 30 years and is facing a number of challenges. This survey was designed to gather Little Chute residents’ preferences with respect to the municipal swimming pool.

The purpose of this study was to give Village of Sherwood officials a greater understanding of the shopping, eating, and leisure time habits and desires of Sherwood residents.
In August 2014, the St. Croix County Community Development Department was awarded a federal Transportation Alternative Program grant to develop a comprehensive bicycling and pedestrian plan for the county. One component of the plan was a random sample mail survey of the general population of St. Croix County conducted in late 2014 on the safety barriers and health and environmental benefits of walking and biking. Another component of the plan, an online survey, was conducted in February 2015 regarding walking and/or biking to and from school in the elementary and middle school grades (closely following the National Center for Safe Routes to School Parent Survey model).
The purpose of this study was to get an accurate assessment of the needs and issues in Walworth County to inform UW-Extension’s program development for County residents.
This report has summarized the results of three connected surveys that collectively were designed to estimate the economic impact of selected water recreation activities on the Dane County economy. In Phase 1, we focused on quantifying the frequency with which Dane County residents engage in recreational activities on or near county lakes and streams. In Phase 2, we measured the proportion of Dane County water recreation participants who live inside and outside the county. In Phase 3, we quantified the amount those who use Dane County water resources for motor boating and fishing from a boat spend in pursuit of their recreational activities. Information drawn from all three phases of the study were used to estimate the overall economic impact of these two recreational activities on the Dane County economy. The three parts of the survey were carried out over three successive years because budgetary limitations made it impractical to conduct them all in one year.
This survey is part of St. Croix County's strategic planning update and was developed to gather opinions from St. Croix County residents about the current importance of various County functions and future spending levels for those functions.
The goals of the survey were to provide the Madison Area Municipal Storm Water Partnership (MAMSWaP) with information to help local efforts to improve area lakes and streams. Input was sought from households in the Joint Storm Water Permit Group area consisting of 20 municipalities within Dane County that jointly apply for and implement a municipal stormwater discharge permit from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Involved municipalities are the cities of Fitchburg, Madison, Monona, Middleton, Sun Prairie, Stoughton, and Verona; the villages of Cottage Grove, DeForest, Maple Bluff, McFarland, Shorewood Hills, and Waunakee; and the towns of Burke, Blooming Grove, Dunkirk, Madison, Middleton, Westport, and Windsor.

The purpose of this study was to gather opinions about the disposal of unused/leftover medicines in Waukesha and Winnebago Counties and was part of a research project by Steven Brachman of the UW Extension Solid and Hazardous Waste Education Center (SHWEC). This study consists of two separate surveys. One survey, which is referred to as the general public survey, was sent to a random sample of households in Waukesha and Winnebago Counties. The other survey was sent to a sample of Waukesha County residents who participated in a free program called “Get the Meds Out” through which a mail back service was offered for the disposal of leftover medicines.
The SRC, working with the North Central Wisconsin Storm Water Coalition, surveyed residents from the cities of Merrill, Mosinee, Schofield, Stevens Point, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids, the villages of Kronenwetter, Rothschild and Weston, and the town of Rib Mountain to:

• understand their current behaviors that can affect stormwater quality and quantity

The purpose for this study was to gather opinions of Tribal members about water issues on the Reservation. At the time of the project, the Lac du Flambeau Tribe’s Natural Resource Department was considering an update of the Tribal Codes that pertain to water resources of the reservation (water quality standards, shoreline development, and wellhead/source water protection). An important component of the Tribal Code revisions was obtaining Tribal member input.
The goal of the Waukesha County Library System (WCLS) survey was to determine average library usage, opinions about the value of the WCLS, and economic considerations associated with the library. A key question to be addressed by this survey was to determine if people living in jurisdictions that don’t currently have a library branch use them differently and have different opinions about them.
The motivation for this study was to gather opinions of residents about a year-round physical fitness facility serving the greater Prescott area, which includes the City of Prescott and the townships of Oak Grove, Clifton, Diamond Bluff, and Trimbelle. In the spring of 2006, the Town of Mercer conducted a survey that determined what sort of housing would be helpful in attracting people who commute to the Town of Mercer for work to become residents.
The 2005 Survey Research Center analysis of parking issues in downtown Hudson is based on 4 surveys: a tally of parking spaces occupied in downtown Hudson during three days in the summer of 2005; intercept interviews with visitors to downtown Hudson during the same three days; a survey of downtown businesses and their employees in October and November, 2005; and a phone survey of a random selection of residents in the Hudson area in November and December, 2005.
To help owners/managers of multifamily housing properties with five or more units comply with state and county recycling regulations, the County Recycling Departments of Pierce and Pepin Counties commissioned the Survey Research Center (SRC) at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls to do a survey of these properties. In April and May 2005 the Survey Research Center (SRC) conducted a survey for the members of the Lac Du Flambeau (LDF) Band of Lac Superior Chippewa Indians on management and conservation of natural and cultural resources on their reservation.
