I was a first-generation and limited-income college student who did not know what to expect from college and how important it was to connect to the college community. This year my oldest son is a senior at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and my middle child is a junior at UW-Eau Claire, so I have reflected on how they have had a very different college experience than I did because of what I can tell them about being in college. I am excited about being part of your college journey. I will encourage you to find your dreams and then to set goals on how to accomplish your dreams.

I have three children (a college senior, a junior, and a high school senior). I enjoy taking nature pictures--come check out my office to see some of the photos. I also enjoy kayaking, hiking, zumba, gardening, reading, baking, and spending time with my family and friends.

I got my undergraduate degree from UW-Platteville in Math Education with a Computer Science minor and my Master's from UW-Stout in Counseling. My previous jobs include teaching at an alternative high school in Milwaukee, being a 4-H Agent, being a transfer counselor at a tribal college, and being a Combat Stress Control Unit member during the Persian Gulf War.
A fun fact about me is that I have a menagerie of pets at home, including three cats, one dog, and a 125-gallon fish tank. I also have two fish tanks in my office.
