UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
The River Falls Police Department monitors weather conditions, initiating the outdoor warning sirens to alert the community of severe conditions that may compromise safety. Regular testing is required to ensure the system is functioning properly. Audible testing of the sirens will resume in March 2017. The schedule for 2017 is below. Monday, March 27th at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, March 28th at 1 p.m.
Thursday, April 20th at 1:45 p.m.
-Make-up date – Friday, April 21st at 1:45 p.m.
Monday, May 22nd at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, May 23rd at 1 p.m.
Monday, June 26th at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, June 27th at 1 p.m.
Monday, July 24th at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, July 25th at 1 p.m.
Monday, August 21st at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, August 29th at 1 p.m.
Monday, September 25th at 1 p.m.
-Make-up date – Tuesday, September 26th at 1 p.m.
On duty staff at the River Falls Police Department monitor developing weather conditions and initiate activation of the weather sirens based on the following protocol.

A. When conditions exist indicating immediate danger of a tornado or severe thunderstorm.
B. If the National Weather Service issues a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning and such conditions are threatening locally.
C. When local law enforcement from the area advise of approaching severe weather conditions, sightings of tornadoes or high winds.
D. If storm conditions exist and public sightings of tornadoes or high winds are reported locally.
