The following studies are available for extra credit this semester. You may take as many surveys as you would like, however, you may only receive extra credit from one course per survey as determined by your instructor. Note: The amount of extra credit that you may receive may vary per course.

The purpose of this study is to examine how handedness relates to various personality traits and behavioral tendencies to approach or withdraw from stimuli. You will first answer survey questions and will then take part in a computerized task that involves approaching or avoiding simple visual stimuli.
All sessions will be in Centennial Science Hall 156.
Duration: 35 minutes
You will answer a few questions about how you feel when taking tests. You will be asked to read a few paragraphs and answer 5 questions.
Duration: 15-20 minutes
We are interested in better understanding how people are perceived in the workplace. You will be asked to watch a short video and answer some questions about the people in the video. You will also be asked to answer a few questions about yourself and your interests.
Duration: 10-15 minutes
The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceived job performance and potential of individuals with varying personal and professional characteristics. We are looking at how people perceive different work-related behaviors and worker characteristics. Your participation will begin with a review of a brief description of a hypothetical employee’s job performance. You will then be asked to rate the hypothetical employee’s performance on a short set of items. Finally, you will be presented with a brief demographic survey. The entire process should take you less than 10 minutes to complete. The measures will be completed anonymously, and we will not ask for personally identifying information such as your name or contact information.
Duration: 15 minutes
Many people who are LGB experience sexual minority stressors. The items in this survey study ask about experiences of victimization/discrimination, other adverse sexual minority stressors, stress-related responses, and mental health. Results from this study can help inform clinicians about unique stressors LGB populations may be facing in their environment and the impact it has on their behavior and mental health.
Duration: 45 minutes
Our study is looking at the relationships between work stress, social media use, and academic performance. Participants will be asked to report their social media behaviors, general work-related information, and aspects of academic performance.
This online survey will examine the relationship between sex education and sexual health among college students. In particular we will examine sex ed, sexual self-efficacy, safe sex, and comfort talking about sex.

This study consists of an online survey that gives brief scenarios of different couples and the participant gets to guess which person in the relationship is more likely to participate in certain activities. This will increase our knowledge and understanding of perceptions of how relationships work and how these can differ between different forms of relationships.
This study is a survey assessing the emotional responses an individual experiences after their first sexual experience. An individual’s first consensual sexual experience can be a large milestone in an individual’s life and evokes a range of emotions based on various factors in an individual’s life.
Hooking up is something that may be coming more common among emerging adults. To understand the hookup culture, one needs to understand how hooking up is perceived. How people perceive hooking up may be influenced by different intersecting factors. Participants will be provided with the definition of hooking up. They will then be asked to read four different scenarios based on hookups and answer follow-up questions.
Our study investigates student perceptions about depression. Participants will complete a 40-question measure and a 20-question trait rating task. The results will help to further the understanding of various perceptions regarding depression.
This study is a survey designed to discover what factors influence academic achievement. Participants will be asked to answer a series of questions pertaining to factors that relate to academic achievement.
Participants will complete a short survey to measure attitudes towards debt, perceptions of individual financial stability, and levels of happiness. Through this, the researchers are aiming to gain a better understanding of the relationship between these variables.There is no right or wrong answer to any question.
This study aims to look at relationships between college students living on campus. We are studying a few of the many different factors that affect relationships between college students. You will complete an online survey about relationships. Only eligible to participate if currently living on campus.
College can be a time in which people start to develop their personal belief systems and explore how that relates to their identity. This study is aiming to measure factors related to gender, beliefs, and identity. Participants will take place in an online survey.
The researchers are interested in college students smoking habits and attitudes relating to various nicotine devices (for example Juuls and vapes). In addition, they will be looking at habits used to reduce the stress of student life. You do not have to be a smoker to take this survey.

Our study is looking at the differences between personality type and communicating online vs face-to-face in the perception of closeness.
Participants will read a variety of tips and will be asked to make a judgement about each tip.
The goal of this study is to find a connection between the experience of childhood stress, the parent-child relationship, and coping mechanisms used by college students. For those who decide to participate in our study, they will be completing our online survey.
This study aims to look at the impact sex education has on college students. Participants will be asked about sex education they received, sexual satisfaction, and relevant demographic information. Participants will complete an online survey.
This study aims to see how recent events that are happening in our environment have affected college student’s perception of job satisfaction. Participants will be asked to rate their level of agreement to sets of statements referring to a job they currently have, had in the past, or will have in the future.
College can be stressful, especially when a heavily weighted exam is coming closer and closer. This survey will be looking at how people cope with test taking. Participants will complete an online survey asking them a few questions on test anxiety.
This study examines the influence that external factors have on stress, coping and self-efficacy among college students. The influence of resources on the previously stated will also be examined through questions related to financial, educational and social support resources. Throughout this survey you will be self-reflecting on how you external factors are influencing how you are feeling and how college is going for you currently.
The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of Covid-19 on students' and student athletes' health and wellness during the pandemic. Students complete an online survey of psychological needs, mood states and well-being, participation in athletics and other groups, as well as demographic items.
Our study will examine the relationship and personality traits as well as relationship satisfaction among college students' romantic relationships and friendships. Participants will be asked to take a short personality quiz for themselves as well as for the friend and their partner. They will then be asked questions on a current or past relationship as well as a friendship.
Our study aims to identify what strategy a college student typically engages in (approach focused or avoidance focused) through a series of survey questions designed to indicate which they most closely resemble. In addition, we are looking to see how many stressors an individual has in their life (e.g., academics, work, relationships, clubs/activities, etc.) and how stressful they find those things in their life.
This study examines the impact of stress, academic performance, and procrastination on college students.
The study will ask you to answer questions on a survey we have designed. The survey will include questions that are short answers, fill in the blank and circle the answer that best fits you.
The purpose of this experiment is to study what helps people remember things. The results are intended to provide insight into the way memory works.

The purpose of this experiment is to study how information from social media influences juror verdicts. Your participation will involve one session lasting approximately 60 minutes for which you will receive extra credit as arranged with your course instructor. The trial video you watch as part of this study contains discussion of murder and suicide. Therefore, it may make you feel distraught. If you are currently experiencing psychologically distressing thoughts or believe watching a video of this nature would cause you psychological distress, you should not continue with this study.
All sessions will be in Centennial Science Hall 101.

The purpose of the study is to assess the relationship between personality traits, fear of missiong out (FOMO) levels, and degree of susceptibility.
Our study will examine the relationship between sibling conflict and empathy. Participants will be asked to fill out a sibling conflict questionnaire for each sibling they have.

Participants will be asked to complete a short survey. The study will be looking at the impact that loneliness, social comparison, and social support have on one's stress levels.

We are studying the interaction between gender and college major in female undergraduate students at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. It is important to note that participants of this study need to identify as female, though participants of all majors can participate.
