While you are going to be learning from experience throughout your first year on campus, we will also be sharing our advice things we hear from students time and time again about the transition to campus. Each month, topics will focus on things like academic success, getting involved on campus, and general tips for how to make the most of all that UWRF has to offer. Out to Lunch Program

Getting to know faculty is an important part of the college experience and what better way to get to know someone than over food? We created Out to Lunch to promote student and faculty interaction outside of the classroom. Follow the directions below to participate in Out to Lunch!

Step One
Invite a faculty member to lunch (or breakfast or dinner) in Riverside Commons by asking them before or after class, calling their office, or sending them an email.

Step Two
We cover the cost of the faculty member's meal and students pay for their own meal with their meal plan, Falcon Dollars, cash, or credit.

Step Three
Enjoy a meal in Riverside Commons with the faculty member. Consider talking about the following subjects:

  • A topic discussed in class
  • An upcoming assignment
  • How the professor's academic career developed
  • Why the professor came to UWRF
  • What the professor enjoys about teaching
  • Your career goals and aspirations
  • Hobbies, sports, fine arts, or anything else that interests you

Step Four
Give us your feedback! Send us an email and tell us about your experience.
