Evan Matson

Evan Matson completed his Masters of Science in Criminal Justice (2012) from St. Cloud State University. During his graduate degree, he worked as an Undergraduate Academic Advisor for the Criminal Justice department. This experience inspired him to pursue a career in higher education.

Before joining the McNair Scholars Program at University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Evan spent two years as a Student Advisor at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  His portfolio focused on retention-based initiatives, at-risk student populations, and first generation students.

 Evan has been with McNair Scholars Program since May 2016. He leads the program's recruitment, retention, and organizes conference opportunities. He provides assistance in securing graduate school acceptance and funding for students. Also, he administers workshops for McNair Scholars on personal statements, curriculum vitae, and graduate school research. Evan is passionate about creating opportunities for students that allow them to attain their academic goals.

Kayla Grahavoc, Graduate Assistant

Kayla is a former McNair Scholar at UW-River Falls who is currently pursuing a Master's degree in School Psychology. 

Pang Moua, Student Office Assistant

Pang is a current McNair Scholar studying Communication Science and Disorders.

Jamie Bucholz, Senior Peer Mentor/ Multimedia Specialist

Jamie is a current McNair Scholar studying Biology.
