Orientation Leaders smiling on campus

OTL Spotlight

With the academic year approaching, you might be feeling unsure about what to expect from the college experience. We get that-- it's a big transition! However, you won't be alone as you start this new chapter. From the second you step on campus for your first day at the Week of Welcome, you will be connected immediately with your Orientation and Transition Leader (OTL) whose goal is get you connected on campus: to friends, to resources, to the city of River Falls, and to your academic life at UWRF!

The OTLs are current students who have gone through those same nerves and have had those same questions as you. They want to share all there is to love about UWRF and help make your start on campus as easy as possible. While we will be introducing you to our team of OTLs later on this summer, we want you to know a little bit more about what to expect from your OTL and start to get to know just a few of them.

"Come with a willingness to try. Try things that you are interested in, aim for things that will give you memories that will last, with friends that will last. Honestly, just pick one club to start and regularly attend. You’ll meet new people and have a reason (besides class) to get out of your room!"

"You are ready! You've come this far, and you can go beyond this point. We believe in you!"

"Being nervous is okay because most new students are nervous. Be the first one to break down the wall dividing you from potential friends. It will grow you confidence and your friend circle."

Karissa

"Come in with an open mind. It's awesome how many different things you'll end up doing and how many different people you'll meet. Expect to change and grow during college and embrace it! Take any opportunity you can."
