Exploring River Falls

Students at Amphitheatre

New Student Registration is an exciting program. We work hard to make sure that your time here on campus is well-spent! You get to see your residence hall, meet with advisers in your major, and actually choose the classes you will be taking in your first semester here, but there are other things to consider doing before leaving the River Falls area until the fall semester.

While you're visiting, you’ll have the chance to walk around campus a bit while you’re here for registration. Campus is truly beautiful, and it’s during the summer, it is especially peaceful without the hustle and bustle of students going between classes throughout the day. Take some time to check out some of the academic buildings and see if you can remember which ones you have classes in-- knowing campus before the beginning of the school year is going to give you a big leg up on getting your schedule down. Or, if you aren't ready to think about academics just yet, enjoy all the beautiful landscaping we have on campus. See if you can find the lavender that grows here.

Maybe while you’re exploring you will let your feet bring you a few blocks to Main Street. There are tons of local businesses to check out, foods to try, and entertainment to experience! Though you're bound to find all these things during your time at school here, it doesn’t hurt to get a sneak peak before everyone comes back in the fall. A really fun stop to consider making is Glenn Park. Not only is it a gorgeous park to walk around in during the summer months, but you can also actually go down to the Kinnickinnic River and see the Falls of River Falls. The walk down the trail by the Swinging Bridge is gorgeous, and when you get down to the base of the trail by the river, you can really see River Falls at its peak beauty. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the natural spring in town-- it is absolutely worth it.

However you decide to spend your time here is truly up to you, but we can’t recommend giving River Falls the chance to show you what it has to offer enough. Most importantly, it’s added time you get to spend with your family and friends in this area. Enjoy your summer, and enjoy River Falls!
