Awarded to a student pursuing a course of study that will prepare them for a career in the field of Agriculture or Agricultural Education. Must have attained junior or senior status and be in good academic standing. Preference will be given to a student who has graduated from a Wisconsin high school and resided, during that time, in the state of Wisconsin.

Norman L. Christianson Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student pursuing a course of study that will prepare them for a career in the field of Agriculture or Agricultural Education. Must have attained junior or senior status and be in good academic standing. Preference will be given to a student who has graduated from a Wisconsin high school and resided, during that time, in the state of Wisconsin.

Environmental Sci & Mgmt

Stella Marcuk Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student who has completed one full year of study at UWRF with a major in Conservation, Environmental Science, or Land Use Planning. The student chosen should have need for scholarship support, demonstrate strong vision and commitment to success in their chosen field, demonstrate exemplary values and ethics to his/her peers and faculty, and have a minimum GPA of 2.50 overall, and 3.0 in their major courses.

Environmental Science

Stella Marcuk Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student who has completed one full year of study at UWRF with a major in Conservation, Environmental Science, or Land Use Planning. The student chosen should have need for scholarship support, demonstrate strong vision and commitment to success in their chosen field, demonstrate exemplary values and ethics to his/her peers and faculty, and have a minimum GPA of 2.50 overall, and 3.0 in their major courses.

Awarded to a student majoring in Animal Science or Food Science and who has an interest in meat science. Preference will be given to sophomore or junior students.

Daniel G. Forsythe Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student majoring in Animal Science. Preference will be given to a student who has an emphasis in Dairy Science. The student must demonstrate financial need.

Awarded to a student majoring in Animal Science. Preference will be given to a student who has an emphasis in Dairy Science. The student must demonstrate financial need.

Geology

Anoka County Gem and Mineral Club Scholarship

Awarded to students who have attained sophomore, junior or senior status with at least two semesters of school remaining, majoring in Geology with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. During the academic year each student recipient must write a short one-page article for the ACG&MC newsletter or give a brief fifteen-minute presentation on some aspect of geology at an ACG&MC meeting.

Awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior student majoring in agricultural economics.

Gerald R. Matteson Scholarship

Awarded to an Ag Education major who is active in FFA Parliamentary Judging and Workshops.

Animal Science

Dr. Richard and Glenda Taylor Huston Scholarship

One scholarship will be given to a student majoring in Environmental Science, Conservation or Community Planning with priority consideration given to a senior with a Hydrogeology minor. Must have attained senior (90 or more completed credits) class status. Preference will be given to those volunteering or working with the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust during their senior year. One scholarship will be given to a student completing pre-veterinary coursework and intending to enter a school of veterinary medicine upon leaving UW-River Falls. Must have attained junior or senior (60 or more completed credits) class status.

Awarded to one student with an Agricultural Studies, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Engineering Technology, Crop and Soil Science, or Animal Science major. To qualify for this scholarship, the student must complete the essay section of the application, briefly explaining his/her leadership positions and activities in high school, college and in the community, and how this involvement led to an agriculture major. Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Student must be a first semester junior (60 credits completed) in the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is provided. Must be a U.S. citizen. The scholarship will be renewed, for spring semester of the junior year and again for the senior year, if the recipient remains eligible.

BioDiagnostics Scholarship

Awarded to one student with a Crop and Soil Science major with the Crop Science option. Student must be a sophomore, junior or senior. Preference given to a sophomore (30 credits at the beginning of the semester for which the award is made). Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to academic excellence over financial need. The scholarship is renewable for three additional years if the student meets the following criteria: Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, remain in the major and complete a minimum of 30 credits per year.

Department of Agricultural Economics Scholarship

Awarded to an Agricultural business major. Must have a minimum sophomore standing at time of application. Must be active in student organizations and/or other extracurricular activities.

River Falls Geological Society Scholarship

Awarded to two students. One scholarship to an active RFCS member with at least 2 semesters remaining who has demonstrated significant club participation. One scholarship to a student entering their sophomore or junior year who is a RFGS member and has demonstrated significant club participation.

In even years (2012-13), the scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing the MC-EA, Middle Childhood through Early Adolescent teaching level (elementary education) who plans to teach 4th, 5th or 6th grade. Students who are pursing the early childhood major or minor do not qualify for this scholarship. Recipient must show evidence of having worked on behalf of one or more of the following: the elderly, the mentally or physically challenged, the homeless, the chemically dependent, or in church activities, mentoring programs, kinship program, Y programs, or environmental activities. Student must be a first semester junior (60 credits completed) in the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is provided.  Must be a U.S. citizen. The scholarship will be renewed, for spring semester of the junior year and again for the senior year, if the recipient remains eligible.

The student must have graduated from a Wisconsin High School and preference will be given to a female undergraduate student. The student may be an Option 1, 2, or 3 Health and Human Performance major who will enrich and support the well being of others and who will help individuals live healthy, satisfying, and energetic lives. The student must demonstrate leadership abilities, teamwork abilities, and community involvement, etc. Must also exhibit a holistic commitment to physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.

One scholarship is awarded in each of these areas to a psychology major: OUTSTANDING MAJOR: Must have earned 75 credits at the time of application and graduate in the following academic year. Applicants must provide an essay (not exceeding 750 words) addressing academic achievement, involvement and leadership (department/campus and/or community), research experience and how in the future they plan to utilize the learning experiences obtained in psychology courses at UW-River Falls. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Applicants must provide an essay (not exceeding 500 words) addressing their academic achievement. Applicants may comment on their GPA, academic awards, recognition or honors received, and research experience. PROMISING NEW MAJOR: Must have fewer than 60 credits earned at the time of application.
