It’s time to Protect the Nest!

We know our Falcons are excited to get back to campus for fall semester. We really want you back and we want you to stay safe while learning, playing or just hanging out with friends. That’s why we are asking you to Protect the Nest by getting your COVID-19 vaccine.

There are SO MANY benefits to being vaccinated!

  • No requirement to quarantine if you are exposed to someone with COVID-19.*
  • When our campus reaches 70% student vaccination rate, those who have uploaded their vaccine card to the portal by October 15 will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of these great prizes:
    • Two red mopeds (license and registration fees not included)
    • Apple watch
    • Nintendo Switch
    • Seven $1,000 tuition scholarships
    • Ten $100 Falcon Dollars certificates

Students are only eligible for one prize in our drawing. Winners will be announced subsequent to final verification of eligibility.

* Public health guidance regarding use of face coverings and quarantine for vaccinated individuals is subject to change. UWRF follows Pierce County Public Health, Wisconsin DHS and federal CDC guidance.

  • Every fully-vaccinated student who uploads their vaccine card to the portal will get a cool UWRF water bottle.

70 for 70

UWRF is also participating in the UW System 70 for 70 campaign. When 70% of our students are vaccinated, they’ll be entered in a drawing for one of 70 scholarships valued at $7,000. Vaccinated UWRF students will be eligible for at least four of them. UWRF students who win a UW System scholarship are still eligible for the UWRF prizes!

Details of the 70 for 70 vaccination incentive can be found here

To receive the scholarship, students must receive their full series of vaccinations by Oct. 15, 2021.

The cost of the campaign is expected to be about $500,000 funded by the UW System.

The 70 percent threshold was chosen based on estimates about the percentage of the population needed to reach herd immunity, which represents those who are vaccinated or who already had the virus and indicates a base level of community-wide protection.

UW System will not require students to be vaccinated.
