Faculty Application Process

Teaching opportunities with the Experience China program exist during either the full spring semester, or single modules within the spring term. Faculty applications will be reviewed by the Experience China Advisory Council. Selections will be based primarily upon concerns for the development of a well-rounded study abroad curriculum. 

Application Process

The Experience China faculty application is hosted through the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Human Resources employment website. The faculty application will request applicants to upload the following documents:

Applicants can leave the Education History and Employment History sections of the online application incomplete. Skipping these sections will not negatively impact the application.

*Please note: At this stage, course syllabi do not need to be updated to reflect China-specific activity. The course proposal form will ask for an outline of your intended use of the local environment. If selected to teach in the program, updated China-specific syllabi will be required prior to on-site teaching.


All application materials for the spring 2020 program must be submitted to the online application no later than April 15, 2018. You will receive an automated email from the applicaiton system thanking you for your application submission once all required application materials have been submitted. If you do not receive an email confirming submission of your application, it means your application is incomplete and will not be reviewed for selection.


All faculty at a U.S. institution of higher learning are welcome to submit an application to teach in the program, but preference will be given to faculty who meet the following criteria:

  • Current faculty member at an Experience China partner school (see below)
  • Courses appeal to a variety of majors at the various Experience China partner schools
  • Courses can be adapted to utilize the local setting
  • Faculty is able to teach multiple modules

Applicants are encouraged to review current Experience China course offerings, as well as this listing of all courses offered through the program, to better understand the diversity of courses that can be supported in this international settting.
